Providing Hope's Mission

Providing Hope’s mission will always be to help our nation’s struggling veterans, in any capacity we’re able to. Our vision is to build The Providing Hope Center (or PHVA Center) where homeless veterans can find shelter, food, counseling and job skills training. The end goal is to have veterans in their own home within six to eight months.

LEARN MORE
"Soldiers who fought for our country are now being overlooked. I knew I wanted to do all I could to support our veterans that were in these positions and do all that I could to keep others from getting to that point.”
-Billy Arehart
Founder of PHVA

How do you do it?

We raise funds that are primarily earmarked for our building fund – The Providing Hope Center. All other funds are budgeted to support veterans in financial difficulty, help other veteran focused organizations, and fundraising (prizes, marketing, etc.)

We believe supporters should have the chance at something truly life-changing in exchange for their donation. That’s why we chose to give away all kinds of incredible prizes – cars, trucks, bikes, toys, and even cash – with every donation receiving an entry into a giveaway. It’s a win-win!

This right here is why I continue to tune out all the naysayers and push forward with our mission…….

Two months ago I received a message in our inbox asking if we’ve ever worked with a veteran being denied medical treatment or if I had any contacts that could assist a veteran in getting the care he needed. I fully explained that wasn’t anything that I had worked with before, but that I would definitely be interested in seeing how we could assist. After a few talks with the veteran himself, I realized time was of the essence and there wasn’t very many places to turn. Mike was diagnosed with Stage 3 pancreatic cancer and needed to have a procedure to confirm the cancer’s spread prior to receiving the necessary chemo treatments. Mike had recently taken a contracting position and didn’t currently have medical insurance. The doctor refused to proceed with the medical procedure until a payment method had already been arranged. You see……..the problem is, the same doctor told Mike he only had 6 months to live if he didn’t have the procedure and necessary follow on chemo treatments. Getting Mike approved for treatment at a local VA would take months that Mike didn’t have and I didn’t want to waste any additional time in making a decision. I told Mike that our organization would cover the cost of the procedure and would do our best to assist in the necessary chemo treatments. Mike’s procedure was a success and he’s currently through the first two rounds of chemo treatment. I can’t say thank you enough to those that support our giveaways, without YOUR support, we wouldn’t be able to help those in need!

“Thank you for all you’ve done. Being a disabled veteran living in a shelter, there was no way I could move into my new place or afford to pay a company to do so for me. Your organization not only facilitated the move to my new apartment, but also provided many of the essential items that I would not have had.”
