This right here is why I continue to tune out all the naysayers and push forward with our mission…….

Two months ago I received a message in our inbox asking if we’ve ever worked with a veteran being denied medical treatment or if I had any contacts that could assist a veteran in getting the care he needed. I fully explained that wasn’t anything that I had worked with before, but that I would definitely be interested in seeing how we could assist. After a few talks with the veteran himself, I realized time was of the essence and there wasn’t very many places to turn. Mike was diagnosed with Stage 3 pancreatic cancer and needed to have a procedure to confirm the cancer’s spread prior to receiving the necessary chemo treatments. Mike had recently taken a contracting position and didn’t currently have medical insurance. The doctor refused to proceed with the medical procedure until a payment method had already been arranged. You see……..the problem is, the same doctor told Mike he only had 6 months to live if he didn’t have the procedure and necessary follow on chemo treatments. Getting Mike approved for treatment at a local VA would take months that Mike didn’t have and I didn’t want to waste any additional time in making a decision. I told Mike that our organization would cover the cost of the procedure and would do our best to assist in the necessary chemo treatments. Mike’s procedure was a success and he’s currently through the first two rounds of chemo treatment. I can’t say thank you enough to those that support our giveaways, without YOUR support, we wouldn’t be able to help those in need!

Hero's Bridge provides direct services to veterans over the age of 65 in a three county area. We often receive calls for assistance to younger veterans or veterans out of our area. Being new and a relatively small organization, we sometimes have to reach out to other organizations to meet the needs of these vets outside of our stated mission. Each time we have reached out to Providing Hope, they have responded immediately. They have met with veterans in need quickly, provided financial support, transportation and moving assistance. We are so happy that we have found another veterans organization that does more than just talk about helping veterans, time after time they have come through for us and our veterans!

Had it not been for Providing Hope VA, I would be homeless today. They went above and beyond to help me. I will be forever grateful to this great organization. They really care about our Veterans and truly help them. Please donate to this great organization and support their mission. Providing Hope VA is number one in my book. Again I could not have made it without you.

Thank you for all you’ve done. Being a disabled veteran living in a shelter, there was no way I could move into my new place or afford to pay a company to do so for me. Your organization not only facilitated the move to my new apartment, but also provided many of the essential items that I would not have had.

Billy, I want to thank you and your organization for the quick response and support. Our family never imagined we would be in such a position, but after illness fell on my wife and I, things really took a turn. We were within days of loosing our home and thanks to your organization’s quick work, we were able to stay in our home and get back on our feet. Words cannot express how grateful our family is for what your organization was able to do. God bless.
